The service is still expensive. Even a 5Mbit package costs RM149  The current IPTV programs are pretty limited (when compared against Astro packages). I guess this service caters for people with a deep pocket.

For the past 3 days, I have noticed TM contractors laying cables along Persiaran Lestari Perdana (near to Taman Equine). From the looks of it, seems to be high speed fibre-optic cable. It that is true, UniFi may come to Taman Puncak Jalil very soon :D

It's confirmed. Those contractors are installing the fibre-optic cables for UniFi

I asked the contractors who were doing the installation at Jalan LP3 and LP4 today. According to them, Taman Equine, Lestari Perdana, Taman Puncak Jalil should be able to get the UniFi services in Q4, 2010 :D.

Yes ! UniFi is coming to town !

@iqa1309 - Thanks. Great sharing and nice pics. That's just what TPM residents are hoping for. I certainly hope Q4 will is the target implementation though no indication given yet in UniFi website. Will survey around the area to see if phone pole had already been changed to Fibre Optic or perhaps they are just beginning to lay the groundwork first. Certainly good news indeed!

Hi,

Today I received an email from UniFi that Puncak Jalil (particularly PUJ 5) will be covered by UniFi service in Q1' 2011. Ceh ! Have to wait at least for another 6 months. :( The email asked me to call TM UniFi Centre at 1 300 88 1222 and visit TM Point to subscribe to the service.

Did anybody else receive the same email ?

As I suspected earlier in my post that it will be implemented by early next year. I was hoping that it was wrong when I saw some pictures of laying the groundwork. Guess they decide it will be implemented Q1' 2011. But at least it's encouraging to know they are already starting to lay the groundwork in TPM as showed in the pictures becoz now we know they already had a plan for TPM.

As for one of their wording in the email content says one can subscribe for the service is certainly curious. What do they mean? Does it mean we can subscribe (or rather preregistered for the service first from now)? Does that mean once it started to roll out, you would be the first batch customers to get it first way faster than if you go and subscribe during Q1' 2011? Strange, guess the only way to know is to enquire from them.

Here's their email that I got as well:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding UniFi service.

We are pleased to inform you that your area will have UniFi service coverage in Quarter 1, 2011. You may at that time call TM UniFi Centre at 1 300 88 1222 or visit the nearest TMpoint for enquiries and subscribe to the service.

If you require any additional information, please visit our website at http://www.tm.com.my

With kind regards,

TM UniFi Team
